Go to market with just enough to know if your idea works

MVP for startups

I build the shortest version you can already put in front of a user, with scope and price fixed up front and foundations you will not have to throw away if it takes off.

What goes into an MVP you can decide with

An MVP is not half a product or a pretty demo. It is the minimum that lets you put the idea in front of a user and read what they do. This is what I build to get there without overspending.

Narrowing the idea

  • Which hypothesis has to be validated and which one can wait
  • The feature that justifies someone using it
  • What gets left out and why, in writing
  • Scope, timeline and price fixed before any code is written

Building the first version

  • A working product, not a clickable prototype
  • Signup, login and the bare minimum to operate
  • Billing from day one if the model calls for it
  • Frequent deliveries you can show while it is being built

Launching and measuring

  • Production deployment with a domain and separate environments
  • Usage metrics to read what users actually do
  • Error alerts so you find out before they do
  • Technical foundations that hold if you need to accelerate

Why build your MVP with me?

You ship sooner, spend less and avoid unpayable debt

The problem with most MVPs is not that they ship late. It is that they ship expensive and badly founded, so when the idea works they have to be rebuilt from scratch. I build the short version, but with the technical decisions made as if it were going to grow.

  • You know the cost before starting

Fixed scope, timeline and price in writing. No surprise of a budget doubling halfway through.

  • You validate with users, not opinions

The goal is to get something in front of someone as soon as possible. What that user says is worth more than three months of meetings.

  • You do not throw the code away when it works

Built short but not improvised. If the idea takes off, you build on from here instead of starting over.

  • You talk to the person building it

One point of contact end to end. No management layers between your idea and the code that runs it.

What kind of MVP do I build?

First versions to validate an idea, built in weeks instead of quarters.

A product to validate an idea

The shortest version that already lets someone use it and tell you whether it helps.

An MVP to raise a round

Something real to show an investor, with users inside it and metrics to back it up.

Two-sided marketplace

Supply, demand and payments, with just enough to prove both sides show up.

An internal tool that becomes a product

Taking something you already use in-house to market and seeing if people outside pay for it too.

An app with AI inside

Validating that the AI feature adds something before building the whole product around it.

Rescuing a stalled MVP

Picking up a project that stopped halfway and taking it to something you can show.

How I go from your idea to an MVP in production

01

I cut the idea down

I separate what has to be validated now from what can wait. This is where the real money is saved.

02

I fix scope and price

What is in, what is out and how a change is handled, in writing before starting. No surprises halfway.

03

I build in deliveries

Frequent versions you can see and try. No disappearing for two months and showing up with something else.

04

We launch and measure

Production, metrics and alerts. From there you decide whether to accelerate, pivot or stop, but with data.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions about MVP development

What people almost always ask me before starting a first version.

  • How much does it cost to build an MVP?

It depends on how much has to be built before you can validate, and that figure drops a lot once it is cut down properly. On the first call I give you a range and the variables that move it. If I see your idea can be validated without development, I say so before charging you anything.

  • How long does it take?

A well-scoped MVP is usually in production in four to eight weeks. The timeline is set mostly by what gets left out, so the important conversation is the one about cutting, and we have it at the start.

  • What is in and what is left out?

In goes what a real user needs to use it and what you need to read what happens. The rest goes on a list and waits until there is data.

    • The feature that justifies someone using it.
    • Signup, login and the bare minimum to operate.
    • Billing, if the model needs it from the start.
    • Usage metrics to read real behaviour.
  • Is an MVP not just code you throw away later?

It should not be. An MVP is short on scope, not careless on decisions. You cut features, not foundations, which is why if the idea takes off you keep building on top instead of starting over.

  • Do you work at a fixed price?

For an MVP, yes. It is the format that makes most sense when what you want is to know how much validating will cost you. If scope changes along the way, it gets quoted separately and you decide before it gets done.

  • Is it good enough to show an investor?

That is one of the most common reasons to build one. A working product with users inside tells a story no slide deck tells, especially with usage metrics next to it.

  • Who owns the code?

You do. Repository, infrastructure and accounts in your company’s name from day one. No hidden dependencies, no vendor lock-in.

  • What happens when the MVP works?

We carry on from where it was, in batches, prioritising with what users actually did. I can run the evolution and maintenance or leave it documented for your team to take over. You choose.
